A petition launched by Real Madrid fans calling for the departure of French striker Kylian Mbappé has accumulated 50 million signatures. Created on May 5, the petition garnered 12 million signatures within the first 24 hours and 30 million in two days. As of now, over 50.1 million people have signed, a figure comparable to the entire population of Spain.
The growing dissatisfaction stems from reported discord within the squad. According to L’Equipe, some teammates are unhappy with the privileges granted to Mbappé, citing his “disrespectful attitude toward training staff” and arriving 40 minutes late to sessions. Additionally, his trip to Sardinia with actress Ester Expósito during a critical period, while he was supposed to be recovering from a hamstring injury, has drawn criticism.
Furthermore, journalist François Gallardo reported that Mbappé’s mother, Fayza Lamari, who also serves as his agent, is planning to present an ultimatum to Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, demanding the departure of teammate Vinícius Júnior. It is noted that Mbappé “feels betrayed by Vinícius and other Real Madrid players.”
Mbappé has been with Real Madrid since 2024. In the current season, the 27-year-old has scored 41 goals in 41 appearances for the club.
