Former UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili responded to Sean Strickland’s win over Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328. The bout, which headlined the event in Newark, New Jersey, ended with Strickland earning a split decision victory, making him the new UFC middleweight champion and stripping Chimaev of the belt.
“Great fight, guys! Congratulations, Sean!” Dvalishvili wrote under Strickland’s post on social media.
Chimaev suffered his first professional defeat, now holding an MMA record of 15 wins and one loss. Strickland’s record improves to 31 wins and seven losses.
